The person hired will teach introductory courses in Christian Scriptures and Christian Heritage. Some teaching experience is preferred. The Department of Religion at Baylor University seeks to fill a position at the rank of Assistant to Associate Professor in Theology to start August 1, 2024.  We especially welcome applications from candidates with expertise in race or theological aesthetics/the arts. The successful candidate will hold a Ph.D., Th.D., or D.Phil. Preference will be given to candidates with a demonstrated R1 research agenda, teaching experience, the ability to attract and mentor doctoral students, and the ability to seek external funding.  Candidates will be active in the Christian tradition, with strong preference given to those who will be active in the Baptist tradition.
